It’s time to meet the family in a brand new trailer for ‘The Many Saints of Newark’
When it comes to revolutionary television programs they don’t get bigger than HBO’s The Sopranos. This mob-centred masterpiece changed the landscape of what we thought a mafia story could be and now audiences are getting the chance to go right back to where it all began in The Many Saints of Newark.

Here’s the official synopsis:
Young Anthony Soprano is growing up in one of the most tumultuous eras in Newark’s history, becoming a man just as rival gangsters begin to rise up and challenge the all-powerful DiMeo crime family’s hold over the increasingly race-torn city. Caught up in the changing times is the uncle he idolizes, Dickie Moltisanti, who struggles to manage both his professional and personal responsibilities—and whose influence over his nephew will help make the impressionable teenager into the all-powerful mob boss we’ll later come to know: Tony Soprano.
Following on the footsteps of the first trailer, which introduced us to the world of the DiMeo crew, this new trailer focuses in on the story of The Many Saints of Newark and the journey of the film’s protagonist Dickie Moltisanti (Alessandro Nivola), who also happens to be the father of Christopher Moltisanti and the uncle to a young and impressionable Anthony ‘Tony’ Soprano (Michael Gandolfini).
This new trailer focuses on Dickie’s journey within the DiMeo crew as a prominent soldier who begins to step up in the responsibilities that single him out as a natural leader. This not only brings him into conflict with a rising African-American criminal element in Newark, but also earns him the ire of Tony’s father Giovanni ‘Johnny Boy’ Soprano (Jon Bernthal). Much of the new trailer is framed through the visitations between Dickie and his father Aldo “Hollywood Dick” Moltisanti (Ray Liotta), an incarcerated mafiosa.
This new trailer for The Many Saints of Newark is packed out with intense moments, and long time fans of The Sopranos will be very pleased with the new footage that they get to look on here.
The new trailer also follows on from an appearance by writer David Chase on Jimmy Kimmel where he discusses the film. Kimmel who has seen the film keeps the details minimal, but of the film experience said, “I demanded to get a screening of this film before you came out here. I love the Sopranos, as everybody loved The Sopranos, obviously. I really loved it. I’m pleased to report that anybody who loves The Sopranos is going to be ecstatic about this particular movie.”
