He was an utter scene-stealer in James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad, and now John Cena returns as the loud-mouthed, trigger happy, wannabe superhero Christopher Smith aka Peacemaker in the self-titled new series.
Peacemaker, which will act as both prequel and sequel to The Suicide Squad and follow the escapades of this super buffoon as he tries desperately to become a hero. With a lot of difficulties, we might add.

Here’s the official synopsis:
Set after the events of The Suicide Squad, the series explores the origins of Peacemaker and his subsequent missions.
Bringing together his excellence for producing outlandish visuals, and cracking comedy, James Gunn’s Peacemaker is sure to be a hit with those who are in need of Gunn’s trademark cinematic fix and this new series is gonna be a hoot.
Mixing together a savage amount of violence, some very un-pc humour, along with Cena at his most unhinged, Peacemaker looks to reconstructed this character who is equal parts hero and villain and the series will appeal to long time fans of Gunn’s work.
Just flat out crazy on every single level, Peacemaker is a series you definitely want to make a date for next year, and it’s sure to bring on plenty of fun for long time superhero fans.
Peacemaker is set to arrive on Neon next year.
