Embrace the darkness with ‘Morbius’

Sometimes the wait is so much sweeter and now Jared Leto is ready to haunt the night with his turn as the Living Vampire in Morbius.

Check out the brand new trailer for Morbius below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Michael Morbius (Jared Leto) attempts a desperate gamble. While at first it seems to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed. Will good override evil – or will Morbius succumb to his mysterious new urges?

Directed by the genre-hopping Daniel Espinosa (Life, Safe House), Morbius is a dark and gothic new addition to the ever-growing Spider-Verse and the action is cranked all the way in this crazy new take on the superhero genre.

Academy Award winner Jared Leto once again gives a committed performance as Dr. Michael Morbius, a brilliant scientist suffering from a rare blood disorder who goes to extreme lengths to find a cure to his deadly disease. But that cure has some particularly dangerous side effects and soon he begins to embrace the night around him as ‘The Living Vampire’ and has to walk the line between what it means to be a hero and a villain.

Morbius has a great kinetic sense of energy about it. Quick and sharp, Espinosa and his team keep this one running fast and it’ll certainly cause your adrenal gland to spike. Then there’s the way that Espinosa and his creative team have re-interpreted the idea of vampirism within the Marvel Universe. Leto fully transforms into a beast of the night. And a damn scary one at that.

Long time Spider-Man fans will also be in for a treat with a connected universe that is referred to deeply within this trailer. Not only do we have the appearance of Michael Keaton as Adrian Toomes/Vulture, but also the mention of a certain ‘incident in San Francisco’. Yep, things are about to really get shaken up here.

Brace yourselves for an intense new superhero spectacle, with added bite, when Morbius arrives in cinemas on January 20.
