Charlie Hunnam makes for a good sleuth in ‘Last Looks’

Charlie Hunnam is on the case as modern-day private eyes Charlie Waldo in Last Looks…and nothing is normal about this new case.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Charlie Waldo (Charlie Hunnam) is an ex-LAPD superstar who left the force and now lives a life of simplicity and solitude deep in the woods. Alistair Pinch (Mel Gibson) is an eccentric actor who spends his days drunk on the set of his TV show. When Pinch’s wife is found dead, he is the prime suspect and Waldo is convinced to come out of retirement to investigate what happened. The case finds Waldo contending with gangsters, Hollywood executives and pre-school teachers, all in pursuit of clearing Pinch’s name … or confirming his guilt.

Director Tim Kirkby brings together both the luxury and scum of Los Angeles in the new crime-comedy film Last Looks, which finds dedicated minimalist detective Charlie Waldo (Charlie Hunnam) having to investigate eccentric TV star Alistair Pinch (Mel Gibson) and deciphering whether the man is innocent or guilty as hell.

The material plays into Hunnam’s wheelhouse and he’s able to flex his acting muscles as the revered Waldo, while also playing off Hollywood legend Mel Gibson who appears to be having a blast in his eccentric part as Alistair Pinch, while noted beauty Morena Baccarin lends a hand to Waldo as his ex-wife Lorena Nascimento.

Last Looks is shaping up to be a very fun ride and presents a brand new tale on the classic private eye tale and it will arrive in cinemas and on demand on February 4.
