After nearly five-thousand years of imprisonment, Black Adam (Dwayne Johnson), an antihero from the ancient city of Kahndaq, is unleashed into modern times. His brute tactics and way of justice attract the attention of the Justice Society of America (JSA), who try to stop his rampage, teach him how to be a hero more than a villain, and must team up to stop a force more powerful than Adam himself.
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, who is a frequent collaborator of Johnson’s, Black Adam is shaping up to be a colossal new entry within the DCEU and this new trailer promises an incredible rush for audiences to get behind. With explosive action, a dramatic, earth-shattering narrative and one intense performance from Johnson, Black Adam is shaping up to be one of the year’s biggest event movies and this trailer sure is a rush to watch.
Channelling the rise of Black Adam, after five-thousand years of imprisonment, this rogue super-powered being goes on a rampage through the city of Kahndaq and comes up against the mighty Justice Society of America who are charged with bringing him down. The trailer gives audiences a taste of this film’s scope and scale, and it will be a very heavy watch.
In addition to Johnson, who leads from the front as Black Adam, the film’s cast is stacked with a group of very impressive talent. The members of the JSA, who include Aldis Hodge as Carter Hall / Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Albert “Al” Rothstein / Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Maxine Hunkel / Cyclone and Pierce Brosnan as Kent Nelson / Doctor Fate all make an impression on audiences on the trailer and their appearance is about to take the DCEU to a new level. This trailer also gives audiences a brief look at the film’s primary villain, Ishmael Gregor / Sabbac, played by Marwan Kenzari. This demonic military threat will be an excellent threat for Black Adam to go up against.
The fate of the world hangs in the balance and with only Dwayne Johnson as Black Adam has the power to save or damn it. Brace yourself for his decision when Black Adam arrives in cinemas on October 20.
