Take your first look at ‘The Last of Us’

It’s one of the most celebrated video games of all time, and expectations were high for HBOMax’s full-on epic adaptation of Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us. And this brand new teaser is not mucking about and promises one hell of an adrenaline rush.

Here’s the official synopsis:

The Last Of Us story takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel, a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie, a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Set to the moody, dark and melodic tones of Hank Williams ‘Alone and Forsaken’, this first teaser trailer is a straight-up montage of action and adrenaline which sees audiences thrown into a hellish future where humanity is decimated and only the strong survive.

Cast in the lead role of Jole Miller, a hardened survivalist, is Pedro Pascal and the dashing thespian cuts a pretty dark shadow as this murky anti-hero who takes a job to oversee teenage survivor Elle (Bella Ramsey) who carries a secret that could very well see this apocalypse end.

Packed full of brooding tension, explosive thrills and vast western vistas, The Last of Us is an epic new title that HBO fans are going to rally behind and it’s shaping up to be one of 2023’s must-watch new series.

Prepare for the fight and the drama when The Last of Us arrives on SKY TV and Neon next year in 2023.
