With his performance as John Wick, Keanu Reeves single-handedly changed action cinema forever, and alongside key collaborator Craig Stahelski, a new type of action cinema took over the big screen. Now a new chapter of the John Wick mythos is about to arrive in From the World of John Wick: Ballerina and it promises a take-no-prisoners rush for action fans, and rising A-lister Ana de Armas is taking things up a notch with this kick-ass role.

Watch the all-new trailer for From the World of John Wick: Ballerina below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

Taking place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, Eve Macarro (Ana de Armas), a ballerina-assassin, begins to train in the assassin traditions of the Ruska Roma and sets out to exact revenge for her father’s death.

Armas is team-up with celebrated action filmmaker Len Wiseman, who, having helmed with the slick and stylish Underworld franchise, knows a thing or two about action heroines, and this new trailer for Ballerina dials up the action and showcases Armas’ Eve as a freelance assassin who has strayed from the path of the Ruska Roma in order to achieve her own path of vengeance. And her actions are about to shake the laws of the world of The High Table in a very dangerous way. The reaction to Eve’s choices sees the Baba Yaga himself, John Wick (Keanu Reeves), sent to dispatch Eve in the most brutal way possible, with Wick posing the question to her that actions have consequences.

This revelation that Reeves will have a much larger role in Ballerina that his previous ‘cameo’ appearance is a major revelation for fans, and that he’ll almost be stepping back into his role as the ‘Boogeyman’ will really keep things interesting. While we’ve seen them walk his own path of vengeance, we now get to see him as used as a tool in someone else’s power play, and with his villainous shadow in the background, it’s sure to keep things interesting.

Alongside the presence of Reeves, Ballerina has a fantastically stacked cast of performers, including the likes of Norman Reedus as Daniel Pine, a dangerous and elusive hitman who becomes an alley to Eve, along with the presence of Ian McShane as Winston Scott, the enigmatic owner of the Continental Hotel and Eve’s long-time guardian and the late great Lance Reddick as Charon, the concierge at the Continental Hotel, of which Ballerina will feature his final performance.

Armas has been put through her paces by the team at 87Eleven, and the action of Ballerina is going to be a real rush for audiences with Wiseman and Stahelski building on the tone set by the previous John Wick films, and really amping things up, including giving Eve a flamethrower that is sure to light up the screen!!
