Here’s the official synopsis:

Set against the impending marriage of Christian (Jamie Dornan) and Anastasia (Dakota Johnson), the new teaser chronicles Ana’s growing dominance over Christian as they unite as one…along with the creepy presence of the bitter and predatory Jack Hyde (Eric Johnson), who appears to have some wicked plans of his own for Ana.

Things look stronger than ever for Christian and Ana this time with the bells of marital bliss ringing out, but new temptations also arise. And while jealousies and possessiveness where normally part of Christian’s behaviour it now appears that Ana will find herself calling the shots. She’ll also have to contend with the presence of other women in Christian’s life including the manipulative Elena Lincoln (Kim Basinger) better known as ‘Mrs. Robinson’.

The new trailer also promises plenty of steamy action within the confines of the Red Room, and director James Foley’s direction evokes the intense erotic-thrillers of the 1980s such as Basic Instinct, with Eric Johnson channelling a predatory dangerousness as the devilish Jack Hyde, who is now stalking Ana with a vengeance.

Prepare for all kinds of spice when Fifty Shades Freed is released in cinemas on February 8, 2018.

The new trailer strikes the right balance between romantic love story and hard-edged thriller with new director James Foley (Fear, The Corruptor) appearing to take cues from the erotic thrillers of the 1980s.

The new trailer also highlights the sultry duet from Taylor Swift and Zayn Malik titled “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” which is sure to be a must add to your playlist just as The Weeknd’s “Earned It” was back in 2015.

Fifty Shades Darker is sure to be one of 2017’s biggest event movies and is set to be released in New Zealand and Australia on February 9 and in the US and UK on February 10.
