After the wildly inventive chaos of ‘One Shot,’ The Boys charges full steam ahead into all-out catastrophe with Episode Six, ‘Though The Heavens Fall.’ The stakes have never been higher, the tension has never been tighter, and with Homelander inching closer to absolute supremacy, Eric Kripke delivers another explosive chapter packed with savage humour, shocking turns, and one hell of a legendary guest appearance.

The clock is ticking, and Billy Butcher and The Boys are now locked in a desperate race to secure the final vial of V-1 before it falls into Homelander’s terrifyingly eager hands. Their only lead? Bombsight: a washed-up Golden Age Supe whose current existence is less “legendary hero” and more “utter crackhead disaster.”

Naturally, finding him is anything but straightforward.

Ladies & Gentlemen, please welcome back the incomparable former Vought Executive, The Legend! The Legend is the key to The Boys’ hunt for V1. Meanwhile, Hughie and Annie go to the Democratic Church of America to plant the virus before Homelander’s big sermon, but are confronted by Oh Father in a dangerous face-off. Black Noir takes his revenge on The Deep, but with unexpected consequences. Ultimately, The Boys finally get confirmation that V1 lies with one of Vought American’s original heroes: Bombsight. But the attempt to retrieve the V1 doesn’t go according to plan, and it ends with a twist that even Sage can’t predict.

The Legend steals the spotlight once again

The search for Bombsight leads The Boys back to one of the series’ most entertaining wildcard characters: The Legend.
Yes, Paul Reiser’s gloriously sleazy Vought insider returns, and despite being a marked man hunted by Homelander’s regime, he still can’t stay away from the bright lights of showbiz. This time around, Mother’s Milk tracks him down working behind the counter at a rundown Vought theatre, a reveal that perfectly captures the faded grandeur of a man who once stood at the centre of the Supe machine.

As always, Reiser absolutely steals every scene he’s in.

Beyond the laughs and outrageous commentary, The Legend brings a surprising emotional weight to the episode. His conversations about celebrity, legacy, and the fleeting nature of fame add a reflective edge to the madness, particularly during a standout heart-to-heart with Homelander himself.

And it’s here that Antony Starr once again proves why he remains one of television’s most terrifying performers.
Homelander’s façade is cracking again. Beneath the god complex and violent narcissism lies a deeply pathetic figure terrified of irrelevance and failure. The Legend understands this better than anyone, and their exchange becomes one of the episode’s smartest meta commentaries; a brutal reflection on celebrity worship, disposable fame, and the monster Vought created.

Supes never retire gracefully

Of course, The Boys never stays serious for too long.

The hunt for Bombsight soon leads Butcher and Kimiko to Golden Geisha, Bombsight’s former flame, who now resides in a retirement village for ageing Supes. The concept alone is hysterical, and Kripke squeezes every possible ounce of comedy and grotesque absurdity from it.

Turns out getting old with superpowers is just as miserable, and significantly messier.

The resulting mission to snatch Golden Geisha spirals into one of the episode’s funniest sequences, particularly as Kimiko unexpectedly fangirls over the former Supe icon. What follows is a gloriously awkward, chaotic fight scene loaded with cringe-inducing violence, absurd physical comedy, and the kind of “I can’t believe they just did that” insanity that only The Boys could pull off.

The Deep finally gets what’s coming

Meanwhile, The Deep’s spectacular downward spiral continues, and honestly, it couldn’t happen to a more deserving idiot.

After Black Noir secretly sabotages an oil pipeline and causes what can only be described as “fish genocide,” The Deep finds himself taking the blame for the ecological disaster. Watching him unravel under the pressure is both hilarious and deeply satisfying, especially as his fragile “bro” relationship with Noir finally detonates into a brutal beatdown with major consequences.

Chace Crawford continues to deliver career-best work here, somehow balancing pathetic insecurity, frat-boy stupidity, and genuine emotional collapse all at once. The Deep remains one of the show’s funniest characters precisely because he’s so utterly hopeless.

And by the end of the episode? He’s in deeper trouble than ever before.

Bombsight arrives – and everything changes

But ‘Though The Heavens Fall’ ultimately belongs to Bombsight. Mason Dye finally makes his long-awaited debut as the unstable Golden Age Supe before his return in the forthcoming Vought Rising, and his introduction does not disappoint. Bombsight is dangerous, unpredictable, and completely broken; a relic of Vought’s past rotting in plain sight.

What begins as another violent clash soon escalates into a full-scale Supe showdown as Soldier Boy comes face-to-face with his old comrade. The fight is brutal, emotional, and packed with the kind of raw destructive energy fans have been craving.

But then everything changes.

In one shocking moment, Sister Sage’s carefully orchestrated Armageddon plan completely implodes. For perhaps the first time all season, the supposedly untouchable mastermind loses control, and watching Sage realise she’s miscalculated is immensely satisfying.

And then Homelander arrives.

What follows is pure nightmare fuel with Soldier Boy making a choice no one could foresee coming, Butcher can only scream “RUN!”, and suddenly Season Five launches headfirst into completely uncharted territory.

The endgame has truly begun

‘Though The Heavens Fall’ feels like the point of no return for The Boys. Every thread is converging, every character is spiralling, and the balance of power is shifting in terrifying ways.

The humour is still razor-sharp, the gore remains gloriously excessive, and the satire cuts deeper than ever—but beneath all the chaos is an overwhelming sense of dread.

Homelander is ascending. Butcher is losing himself. The world is crumbling.

And with only a handful of episodes left, it’s becoming frighteningly clear that nobody is getting out of this intact.

Final Verdict: HOLY SHIITTTT!

A chaotic, tension-filled powerhouse of an episode that pushes Season Five into its darkest and most dangerous territory yet.

The Boys is now streaming on Prime Video.

IT’S SHOWTIME! The gates of Outworld have burst wide open and Mortal Kombat II has arrived to unleash a savage barrage of bone-crunching combat, arena-shaking action and gloriously excessive fatalities upon cinemas everywhere. Louder, bloodier and infinitely more insane than its predecessor, this sequel storms onto the screen like a heavy metal anthem played at full blast, and from the moment the fists start flying, it never lets up.

Following the blockbuster knockout of 2021’s Mortal Kombat, director Simon McQuoid returns with a full-throttle sequel that embraces the franchise’s mythic scale and arcade-fuelled insanity with absolute confidence. This is no restrained follow-up.

Mortal Kombat II lives by the motto of “go big or go home,” and McQuoid throws absolutely everything into the fight pit. The result is a wildly entertaining martial arts spectacle that feels ripped straight out of the golden age of hyper-violent action cinema, turbocharged with supernatural chaos and dripping with fan-service mayhem.

This time, the fan favourite champions, now joined by Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) himself, are pitted against one another in the ultimate, no-holds-barred, gory battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.

Enter the Kombat

This time around, the stakes are nothing less than the survival of Earthrealm itself, and with the official Mortal Kombat tournament finally underway, a whole new generation of warriors steps into the arena. Long-time fans are going to lose their minds over the expanded mythology and deeper dive into the franchise’s decades of lore, with McQuoid and his creative team embracing the epic fantasy side of Mortal Kombat just as enthusiastically as the brutal combat.

From towering Outworld battlefields to the hellish nightmare landscapes of the Netherrealm, Mortal Kombat II feels enormous in scale. Every location pulses with heavy metal energy thanks to striking production design, whip-crack cinematography and a visual style that fully commits to bringing the iconic video game universe to savage life on the big screen. And when the fights begin? Absolute carnage.

Karl Urban Steals the Show as Johnny Cage

Leading this new era of kombatants is Karl Urban as fan-favourite loudmouth Johnny Cage, and Urban absolutely tears the roof off the film. Introduced as a washed-up B-movie action star desperately clinging to the remnants of his fame, Cage initially stumbles into the conflict more concerned with reviving his career than saving reality itself.

But as the blood starts spilling and the punches start landing, Johnny Cage rediscovers the warrior buried beneath the ego, and Urban makes every second of that journey wildly entertaining.

What makes Urban’s performance so much fun is how sharply it contrasts with his ruthless alpha-male swagger as Billy Butcher. Here, Cage is cocky, insecure, ridiculous and strangely lovable all at once, and Urban fully leans into the character’s snarky charm and chaotic energy. The one-liners hit hard, the action hits harder, and by the film’s climax, Cage firmly earns his place as the MVP of the tournament.

Warriors, Tyrants and Fatalities

The supporting cast comes out swinging just as hard. Adeline Rudolph makes a commanding impression as Princess Kitana, whose battle against her tyrannical stepfather Shao Kahn becomes one of the film’s emotional and physical centrepieces. Rudolph brings both fierceness and vulnerability to the role, turning Kitana into a true warrior queen willing to sacrifice everything for her people.

Jessica McNamee once again proves herself a powerhouse as Sonya Blade, now stepping confidently into a leadership role alongside Lord Raiden, played with stoic coolness by Tadanobu Asano. Meanwhile, Josh Lawson absolutely detonates across the screen as Kano, delivering scene-stealing comedy and unfiltered chaos with every appearance.

Then there’s the monster himself. Martyn Ford is a terrifying force of nature as Shao Kahn, radiating pure domination with every thunderous step. Massive, brutal and utterly merciless, Ford transforms Shao Kahn into a genuinely intimidating villain whose presence hangs over the film like an incoming apocalypse.

Fatalities Dialled Up to Eleven

If the first film flirted with the franchise’s signature gore, Mortal Kombat II dives headfirst into the blood-soaked deep end.

The action sequences are gloriously excessive, packed with shattered bones, exploding skulls and fatalities so outrageously over-the-top that audiences will either recoil in horror or cheer like maniacs. For diehard Mortal Kombat fans, this is pure cinematic bliss.

Ludi Lin once again commands attention as Liu Kang, fully stepping into his role as Earthrealm’s greatest champion. His dragon fatality sequence is the kind of crowd-erupting moment that reminds audiences exactly why this franchise has endured for decades.

But the film’s biggest showstoppers arrive in two utterly berserk fight sequences.

The first is a savage four-way deathmatch in the Netherrealm between Johnny Cage, Kano, Hanzo Hasashi/Scorpion and Bi-Han/Noob Saibot, played with lethal intensity by Hiroyuki Sanada and Joe Taslim. It’s an all-out infernal warzone of chains, blades and supernatural brutality.

The second is the climactic showdown between Kitana and Shao Kahn: a brutal, emotionally charged clash that explodes with operatic violence and delivers one of the most crowd-pleasing finales the franchise has ever seen.

Final Verdict: FLAWLESS VICTORY

Big, loud, savage and completely unapologetic, this sequel embraces everything fans love about the franchise and cranks it to maximum volume. Simon McQuoid has crafted a gloriously chaotic martial arts blockbuster that balances mythic fantasy, outrageous violence and heavy metal spectacle with infectious enthusiasm.

Whether you’re a lifelong kombat veteran or simply looking for the wildest cinematic adrenaline rush imaginable, Mortal Kombat II delivers a viciously entertaining ride that hits like a spinning roundhouse kick to the face.

The Boys continues to spiral deeper into madness with every passing episode, and after the full-blown zombie horror insanity of Episode Four, “King of Hell,” showrunner Eric Kripke shifts gears in spectacular fashion with Episode Five, “One-Shots.” The result is one of the season’s most inventive and outrageously entertaining chapters yet; a trippy, riotous burst of television that embraces everything weird, chaotic, and gloriously unhinged about The Boys.

In a very special episode of The Boys, we take a closer look at the individual lives of a handful of characters over the same day. The Seven have a meeting to discuss the future of the Democratic Church of America. Firecracker struggles with the notion of replacing Jesus with Homelander in her heart. When confronted with betraying an old friend, the price of Firecracker’s loyalty will only cost her soul. We see Black Noir’s true passion for life in the theater! But Black Noir will soon learn that through his ambition, he’s made a dangerous enemy. Meanwhile, Sage stays on task with her secret plan to keep V1 away from Homelander, but she needs the help of an unlikely ally: Back Ashley. Our next character spotlight is a delightful, unexpected one: Terror! That’s right folks, Butcher’s lovable hump-crazy dog takes us through The Boys HQ, and we get heartbreaking updates on The Boys (and a quick glimpse into what dogs truly dream about). Last but not least, a kidnapped Stan Edgar gives Soldier Boy a lead on where to find V1 and so Soldier Boy and Homelander head to sunny Los Angeles. The trip is star-studded and gruesome but brings a strange opportunity for father/son bonding.

Eric Kripke goes full comic-book mode

Season Five has seen Kripke throwing absolutely everything at the wall, and somehow, every insane creative swing keeps landing. One of the biggest strengths of The Boys has always been its willingness to bend genre conventions into something fresh and unpredictable, and ‘One-Shots’ might be the show’s most playful experiment yet.

The concept is brilliantly simple: instead of focusing solely on the main narrative, the episode adopts a “one-shot” style structure, allowing supporting characters to step into the spotlight and tell their own stories from their own warped perspectives. It’s a clever nod to comic-book storytelling, where side characters and spin-off tales can suddenly reveal unexpected depth, absurdity, or heartbreak. And in true The Boys fashion, the results are gloriously chaotic.

New perspectives, old insanity

While Homelander continues his terrifying march toward self-deification, ‘One-Shots’ widens the lens and explores how his increasingly fascistic reign affects the people orbiting him.

Firecracker’s storyline proves especially compelling, as her blind devotion to Homelander begins to crack under the weight of fear and guilt. Watching her grapple with a genuine crisis of faith adds an unexpectedly human layer to a character previously defined by fanaticism and manipulation. The terror simmering beneath her loyalty makes her story one of the episode’s strongest surprises.

Then there’s Black Noir II, whose subplot delivers some of the episode’s funniest and most tragic moments. Tired of being dragged around by The Deep’s endless insecurity and idiocy, Noir attempts to pursue his passion for theatre and performance. It’s oddly wholesome watching him embrace his artistic ambitions… until, naturally, everything goes catastrophically wrong in the bloodiest and most humiliating way imaginable. Because this is The Boys, after all.

Meanwhile, Sister Sage continues to cement herself as one of the show’s most terrifying players. Her interactions with Ashley finally reveal the true extent of her master plan, and the revelation is chilling. Sage isn’t just clever, she’s completely, terrifyingly warped. And poor Ashley once again finds herself trapped in someone else’s nightmare.

The Supernatural reunion fans have waited for

One of the episode’s biggest highlights comes courtesy of Soldier Boy and Homelander’s deeply dysfunctional father-son road trip to Los Angeles, where they hunt for the mysterious V-1.

That journey leads them straight to Mister Marathon, played by Jared Padalecki, in a long-awaited reunion with Jensen Ackles that longtime fans will absolutely lose their minds over. And Kripke doesn’t stop there, bringing in Misha Collins as the delightfully grimy Malchemical, a washed-up Supe and Hollywood lowlife with ties to Vought’s darkest secrets.

The entire Los Angeles storyline is peak The Boys: a savage lampooning of celebrity culture, Hollywood excess, and corporate corruption wrapped inside a blood-soaked road-trip comedy. Padalecki and Collins fit seamlessly into the show’s filthy, chaotic universe, fully committing to the sleaze and absurdity of their characters.

And naturally, Soldier Boy’s involvement turns everything into carnage.

The sequence escalates into a spectacular eruption of gore, violence, and pure lunacy that stands as one of the season’s most entertaining stretches so far.

Terror steals the show

For all the insanity packed into ‘One-Shots,’ the emotional core surprisingly belongs to Terror, Butcher’s beloved bulldog, played by the late Bentley the Bulldog.

Terror’s storyline offers something The Boys rarely slows down long enough to explore: genuine tenderness. As the dog bounces between causing chaos, searching for snacks, and trying to make Homelander his literal “bitch,” his presence quietly exposes how fractured The Boys have become in the aftermath of Episode Four.

More importantly, Terror brings out the last flickers of Butcher’s humanity.

No matter how monstrous Butcher is becoming – no matter how corrupted his body and soul may now be – his love for Terror remains real and unwavering. When Terror lands himself in danger, it sparks the first truly heroic act we’ve seen from The Boys in a long time, reminding audiences that beneath all the rage, revenge, and brutality, these characters haven’t completely lost themselves yet.

It’s heartfelt, surprisingly moving, and a beautiful tribute to Bentley’s presence on the show.

A bold, bloody midpoint for Season Five

‘One-Shots’ is one of the smartest episodes The Boys has delivered in years. By embracing the spirit of comic-book anthology storytelling, it gives its supporting players room to breathe while deepening the larger chaos engulfing the season.

It’s inventive, hilarious, shocking, and grotesque in equal measure; loaded with savage satire, outrageous gore, and enough “what the hell did I just watch?” moments to leave audiences grinning from ear to ear. And just when you think things couldn’t get darker, Kripke closes the episode with a brutal reminder that Homelander’s rule will not be challenged lightly.

Season Five has officially crossed the halfway point, and the road ahead looks utterly terrifying.

Final Verdict: A wild, inventive detour into the beautifully batshot crazy world of The Boys

A wildly creative, gloriously chaotic episode that proves The Boys still has plenty of twisted surprises left in the tank.

The Boys is now streaming on Prime Video.

Right from the start, Karl was an utter solid chap, who was open and inviting and delved into the utter chaos that audiences can expect from Season Five, along with what it’s like to step back into the combat boots of a character that you can genuinely feel means so much to him.

Karl was very open about how he’d come to build the character of Butcher over the years, circling back to the original IP of the original graphic novel series by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and how he’s been able to push this character to ever more crazy moments from season to season, and that getting the chance to continually play him is like “putting on your favourite jumper, as soon as I put that jacket on, and throw the boots on he’s right there.”

Further describing the offering of Butcher and his ultimate “Butcher” moment as a “luxury of choices”, Urban went straight back to the the original series pilot saying that throwing Jack Quaid’s Hughie Campbell into the chaos, and engaging into a punch up with invisible supe Translucent (Alex Hassell) was a real treat and that the fun of this character has continued to grow from there.

“Right from the get-go, there’s been so many fantastic Butcher scenes, y’know, driving a speedboat into a whale, I mean, no other show on the planet do you get to do crazy things like this.”

With even more madness on the horizon and an ending set to leave jaws on the floor, Karl Urban is making good on his word: Season Five of The Boys will go out with the most diabolical bang.

If Episode One lit the fuse, then Episode Two of Season Five of The Boys detonates the charge. ‘Teenage Kix’ doesn’t just build on the chaos of the premiere; it gleefully escalates it, delivering an episode that is as warped as it is wickedly funny. The message is clear: the endgame is here, and absolutely no one is safe.

Fresh off the escape from the Freedom Camp and The Boys are already on a mission: Dr. Sameer Shah has cooked up a new version of the Supe killing virus, and The Boys want to test it on a member of Teenage Kix. Homelander, furious at his failure, releases Soldier Boy from his cryo-chamber to send him after Butcher and The Boys. Soldier Boy, who’s keen on revenge for Butcher’s past betrayal, accepts the mission. Kimiko and Hughie get a grim glimpse into life in Homelander’s America as citizens are kidnapped from their homes and families are torn apart. Mother’s Milk rediscovers his softer side, The Deep fears he’ll be replaced, and we finally see the unsettling truth behind Ashley’s superpower. The Boys battle with Soldier Boy and Teenage Kix, and while they successfully release the virus, no one is prepared for the gruesome results of their victory.

Butcher’s warpath takes a disturbing turn

Picking up in the immediate aftermath of ‘Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite,’ Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) wastes no time pushing forward with his scorched-earth plan to wipe Supes off the map. His recruitment of Dr. Sameer Shah (Omid Abtahi) marks a pivotal escalation, as the Super-killing virus inches closer to full weaponisation.

But before they can take a swing at Homelander (Antony Starr), there’s the matter of testing it.

Enter Teenage Kix; a chaotic, influencer-fuelled Supe squad that feels like Gen-Z excess dialled up to grotesque extremes. Insta-flexxing, morally bankrupt, and completely unhinged, they become the perfect test subjects for Butcher’s increasingly ruthless agenda. What follows is messy, violent, and exactly the kind of morally queasy spectacle The Boys thrives on. And yes, Rock Hard is every bit as absurd as his name suggests.

Homelander spirals… and finds a dangerous ally

While Butcher descends further into darkness, Homelander begins to fracture in a different way. Wracked with a flicker of remorse following A-Train’s (Jesse T. Usher) murder, his already fragile psyche starts to buckle, sending him down a path that feels equal parts delusion and desperate self-reckoning.

That path leads him straight to Soldier Boy.

The reunion between father and son is anything but warm, instead crackling with tension, unresolved trauma, and looming catastrophe. Jensen Ackles’ return injects a fresh volatility into the narrative, and the uneasy bargain struck between these two powerhouses sets the stage for consequences that promise to ripple across the rest of the season.

Splintering loyalties and fragile humanity

One of the episode’s strongest threads lies in how it fractures its core characters. Butcher’s “at all costs” mentality may be driving momentum, but it’s also tearing The Boys apart from within. Trust erodes, lines blur, and the moral centre, what little remains of it, continues to disintegrate.

Yet amid the carnage, there are flickers of something more human.

The return of Terror (played by the bestest boy Bentley), Butcher’s ageing bulldog, offers a surprisingly tender counterpoint. Their reunion is brief but affecting, hinting that somewhere beneath the V-fuelled rage and genocidal intent, there’s still a sliver of the man Butcher used to be. It’s a small moment, but in a show this brutal, it lands hard.

Disgust, depravity, and laugh-out-loud insanity

Of course, this is The Boys, and ‘Teenage Kix’ fully embraces the show’s signature blend of gore and grotesque comedy.

Rock Hard stands as the episode’s most outrageous creation; a fallen teenage powerhouse turned tragic, revolting punchline. His bizarre descent into isolation and “volcano porn” addiction is as hilariously absurd as it is deeply unsettling, delivering some of the episode’s most jaw-dropping moments.

Meanwhile, Ashley Barrett’s (Colby Minifie) evolution into a mind-reading Supe continues to be a waking nightmare. Her newfound abilities aren’t empowering, they’re invasive, overwhelming, and deeply disturbing. It’s a darkly comedic thread that reinforces a recurring truth of The Boys: power rarely comes without a cost, and for Ashley, that cost is utterly grotesque.

Final Verdict: A brutal escalation toward total chaos

‘Teenage Kix’ doesn’t just push the story forward—it accelerates it. Every decision carries weight, every alliance feels temporary, and every character seems to be teetering on the edge of collapse. And then there’s that ending. Another shock. Another reminder. Another brutal twist of the knife that leaves you reeling and desperate for more.

The Boys is now streaming on Prime Video.

After years of build-up, bloodshed, and blistering satire, Season Five of The Boys arrives with a roar—and Episode One, ‘Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite’, wastes absolutely no time in making its intentions clear. This is the final ride, and showrunner Eric Kripke kicks things off with a ferocious, punk-rock blast of chaos that feels equal parts war cry and death march. Kripke is promising to deliver eight hell-raising episodes of supreme serialised streaming television, and right from the start Episode One, ‘Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite’ promises an experience for audiences that is going to fucking diabolical!

Season 5 kicks off and the state of our Union is bleak: Superhero worship and Homelander have turned the country into a fascist state – but at least the Vought Shareholders are happy! “Freedom Camps” are the home of all dissidents in Homelander’s America, including Frenchie, Mother’s Milk, and Hughie. Annie and the Rebellion do their best to fight back, but they are no match for Vought’s media machine or the brain power of the new CEO – Sage. Butcher is stronger than ever and proud to embrace the monster he is while Ashley the Supe enjoys her newfound power in the East Wing as the new Vice President. We also meet Ashley’s husband, Oh Father, a clergy Supe who is terrifyingly effective at weaponizing religion in the name of Homelander’s reign. When Homelander announces the public execution of The Boys, Butcher forms an unlikely alliance with a despondent Annie and talkative Kimiko in an effort to save Frenchie, Hughie, and Mother’s Milk.

Welcome to Homelander’s America

Picking up one year after the fallout of Season Four, the world of The Boys has plunged headfirst into authoritarian nightmare territory. America now sits firmly under the heel of Homelander (Antony Starr), whose grip on power—backed by Vought—has turned the nation into a surveillance state where dissenters are rounded up and thrown into internment camps. It’s bleak, brutal, and chillingly plausible, with Kripke holding up a mirrored to our own, at times, fractious world, and it’s eerily scary how close to reality Seaosn Five of The Boys is with it’s ‘what if it went the other way’ narrative in play.

Yet, as always, resistance refuses to die quietly. Annie January, aka Starlight (Erin Moriarty), emerges as the symbolic spark of rebellion, leading the Starlighters in a fragile but determined uprising. Hope is scarce, but it’s there, and Episode One weaponises that hope into a narrative that moves at breakneck speed, dragging viewers through a storm of tension, violence, and raw emotion.

Broken heroes, worse monsters

Kripke has always excelled at walking the razor’s edge between satire and horror, and here he leans in harder than ever. The genius of this premiere lies in how deeply fractured every character has become.

Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) is no longer simply a man on a mission; he’s something far more dangerous. The V-infused darkness within him is taking hold, mutating his purpose into something monstrous. His endgame looms large, and it’s clear that whatever line once existed… is gone.

Homelander, meanwhile, remains terrifying, not just because of his power, but because of his instability. Even with total control, he’s unraveling at a breakneck pace; his narcissism festering into something volatile and unpredictable. Power hasn’t satisfied him; it’s hollowed him out.

And then there are the wildcards. Kimiko’s (Karen Fukuhara) newfound voice is one of the episode’s most wickedly entertaining surprises; her profanity-laced dialogue adding both levity and bite, even as her distrust of Butcher simmers beneath the surface. Hughie Campbell (Jack Quaid), finally shedding his passive tendencies, steps into a more assertive role, while Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso) and Frenchie (Tomer Capone) remain grounded in the human cost of it all.

Elsewhere, The Deep (Chace Crawford) and Black Noir II (Nathan Mitchell) spiral into absurdity with a manosphere-fuelled podcast—darkly hilarious and painfully on-brand, while Ashley Barrett’s (Colby Minife) transformation into a Supe (and Vice President), and adds yet another layer of chaos, particularly with her intrusive mind-reading abilities.

A prison break drenched in blood and brilliance

At its core, ‘Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite’ builds toward one central set piece: a full-scale assault on a Vought prison camp. It’s here that the episode truly ignites.

The rescue mission; bringing together Butcher, Annie, and Kimiko in a desperarte mission to bust out Hughie, MM and Frenchy, feels like classic The Boys: messy, violent, darkly funny, and utterly unpredictable. The action is relentless, escalating into a third act that channels a Supe-powered The Great Escape, albeit with significantly more gore and grotesque humour.

And true to form, the show doesn’t pull its punches. The climactic confrontation delivers consequences that ripple across the entire season, making one thing abundantly clear: NO ONE IS SAFE. Not this time. Not anymore.

Final Vedict: A vicious, electrifying start to the end

If this premiere proves anything, it’s that The Boys is going out swinging, and then some. The energy is dialled up to eleven, the satire cuts deeper than ever, and the violence is as messy as it is purposeful.

This is superhero storytelling with its gloves off, its teeth bared, and absolutely no intention of playing nice.
Strap in, because if ‘Fifteen Inches of Sheer Dynamite’ is anything to go by, Season Five isn’t just building toward an ending—it’s hurtling toward an explosion, and it’s going to be nuclear!

The Boys is now streaming on Prime Video.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In the fifth and final season, it’s Homelander’s world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people. Big stuff’s gonna happen.

With Homelander (Antony Starr) firmly in control of the world, and their being no line left for him to cross as he holds supreme power and authority, we now find the remnants of former covert black ops team and dedicated supe hit team The Boys, pulled back together by a terminally dangerous Billy butcher (Karl Urban), and it’s about to get fucking mental!

Series showrunner Eric Kripke has thrown any kind of filter out of the window (not to any kind of guard rails that stopped him before), but it’s all been ramped up for Season Five, and there’s plenty of crazy being offered here. And this chiefly concerns Hiomelander’s hunt for the legendary V1, Vaut’s first iteration of Compund V, which, if he got his hands on it would make him immortal.

Add in Butcher’s one-way appetite for destruction, Soldier Boy’s return, the Deep and Black Noir’s manosphere podcast, a whole heap of wanton chaos and plenty of explosive action, not to mention the fact that Kimiko, aka The Female (Karen Fukuhara) can now talk, and it’s about to get crazy.

All the stops have been brought out for Season Five, and this includes a talented new line-up of guest stars featuring Daveed Diggs, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, along with some utterly mental action, and the return of the ever-lovable Terror (played in a final beautiful performance by Bentley the Bulldog), and it’s all making for a must-watch event!

Ready yourself for something totally wild, uncontrollable, exceedingly raw, and just straight up wicked when The final season of The Boys arrives on Prime Video on April 8, with the epic, bloody and diabolical final episode set to premiere on May 20.

Prime Video’s The Bluff doesn’t just raise the black flag, it fires a cannon straight through the hull of modern action cinema. Loud, ferocious, and gloriously unrestrained, the film is a full-blooded shot of adrenaline that takes no prisoners. Anchored by feral, powerhouse performances from Priyanka Chopra-Jonas and Karl Urban, The Bluff stands tall as one of the most brazen, inventive, and flat-out exhilarating action experiences of the year.

At the heart of this cannon-blasted spectacle is writer-director Frank E. Flowers, a native son of the Cayman Islands who set out to do something audacious: rip the pirate adventure away from romantic swashbuckling clichés and reforge it into something raw, savage, and dangerous. We were fortunate enough to sit down with Flowers to talk all things The Bluff, and it quickly became clear that this wasn’t just another genre exercise — it was a filmmaker with a vision and the firepower to see it through.

Watch our full interview with director of The Bluff, Frank E. Flowers, below.

From the moment the conversation began, Flowers’ energy was infectious. Passionate, focused, and brimming with enthusiasm, he spoke about The Bluff as a film driven by tension and brutality rather than nostalgia. He described it as a “home invasion movie”, an inspired angle that immediately reframes the pirate genre through a far more claustrophobic and menacing lens. Drawing influence from the cult classic Straw Dogs, Flowers leaned hard into moral ambiguity, escalating violence, and psychological pressure, choices that give The Bluff its ferocious edge.

That edge is sharpened even further by Karl Urban’s performance as the ruthless and vindictive rogue buccaneer Captain Francisco Connor. Flowers spoke candidly about Urban’s commitment to the role, praising the actor for bringing a raw, almost unsettling intensity to the character. Connor is a villain, no doubt about it: brutal, violent, and terrifying, but Flowers was keen to explore the idea that even monsters believe they’re justified. That sliver of perspective adds weight to the film’s central conflict and elevates its stakes beyond simple good-versus-evil theatrics.

And then there’s Priyanka Chopra-Jonas, who brings an explosive savagery to her role as Ercell Bodden aka Bloody Mary that firmly cements her as a top-tier action force. Flowers shared stories of working closely with her to ensure the character’s ferocity felt earned and grounded. The result is action that doesn’t just dazzle — it bites. Bone-crunching, visceral, and relentless, The Bluff delivers set-pieces that feel physical, dangerous, and thrillingly out of control.

What resonated most throughout our chat was Flowers’ sincerity. Open, genuine, and refreshingly down-to-earth, he spoke about The Bluff not as a product, but as a deeply personal project, one born from a desire to push boundaries and reclaim danger in blockbuster storytelling. It was an absolute pleasure to talk shop with a filmmaker so fully invested in every frame of his work.

The buzz surrounding The Bluff has been impossible to ignore, with audiences diving headfirst into its bold, brutal action. The film’s momentum has been matched by enthusiastic promotion from the cast and crew, including a glittering Los Angeles premiere where Chopra-Jonas, in particular, set the red carpet ablaze.

The Bluff pulls no punches and brings teeth, fangs, and fury roaring back into the pirate genre. If you’re craving action cinema with real bite, the kind that leaves splinters in the floorboards and smoke in the air, then this one is not to be missed.

The Bluff is streaming now on Prime Video.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Ercell “Bloody Mary” Bodden (Priyanka Chopra Jonas) thought she had escaped her violent past as a pirate, finding peace in the Cayman Islands with her loving husband T.H. (Ismael Cruz Cordova), their son Isaac (Vedanten Naidoo) and her sister-in-law Elizabeth (Safia Oakley-Green). But when her notorious former captain, Connor (Karl Urban), arrives seeking revenge, Ercell’s world is torn apart. Forced to confront the demons she’s tried to bury, Ercell is thrust back into a deadly game of secrets and survival. Armed with lethal swordsmanship, cunning traps, and a fierce will to protect those she loves, she wages a brutal war against Connor’s merciless crew. Ercell’s fight to save her family becomes a journey of redemption, as she reclaims her power and embraces the warrior she once was.
Here’s the official synopsis:

It’s Homelander’s (Antony Starr) world, completely subject to his erratic, egomaniacal whims. Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), and Frenchie (Tomer Capone) are imprisoned in a “Freedom Camp.” Annie (Erin Moriarty) struggles to mount a resistance against the overwhelming Supe force. Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) is nowhere to be found. But when Butcher (Karl Urban) reappears, ready and willing to use a virus that will wipe all Supes off the map, he sets in motion a chain of events that will forever change the world and everyone in it. It’s the climax, people.

Picking up six months are the utter insanity that we saw in Season Two of Gen V, we now find rag-tag black ops Supe killing unit, The Boys, now turned into humanity’s last hope of resistance against the Supes, and this teaser promises a hell of hard fought battle of sheer attrition with lashings of blood, guts and gore, and it’s going to be an utter insane watch all the way up to the end in eight episodes of sheer bloody madness courtesy of longtime showrunner Eric Kripke.

While this new teaser trailer does touch on the incoming war between The Boys and the Supes, things are left rather cryptic, and Kripke and Prime Video just offer a highlight of what is to come… and it looks bloody insane.

One if the coolest parts of Season Five is that we’ll be getting a Supernatural reunion of sorts with not only Jenson Ackles returning as Soldier Boy and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Joe Kessler, but also with appearances set to be made by Jared Padalecki, whose unnamed, yet gaudy, flashy character makes an appearance in the trailer, along with Misha Collins all set to make an appearance in the upcoming series.

Season upon season The Boys has turned up the sheer insanity of its concept, continually finding new ways to shock us to our core with how extreme Kripke has been able to take this show to, and now in Season Five, he’s going full blast! And if this teaser trailer is anything to go by, well, it’s going to be one of a final ride, and to quote Billy Butcher “even if I have to drag your broke fucking carcasses over the finish line… we are going all the way.” Nuff said!
