Matthew McConaughey makes a call for arms in ‘Free State of Jones’
Following on from the gripping first trailer, a brand new teaser for Free State of Jones has made its way online, and it’s a rallying call for all those who value freedom and liberty.
Based on the incredible true story, Oscar winner Matthew McCanaughey stars as Newton Knight, a poor farmer and former Confederate soldier who waged a guerilla war against the Confederacy through the help of a makeshift army of runaway slaves, and beaten down Southerners.
McConaughey brings his commanding presence to the role of Knight, and his do or die mission for freedom will create compelling viewing for audiences when Free State of Jones is released in cinemas on June 24 in the US, on September 1 in New Zealand and Australia and on September 9 in the UK.
