And forever known to history as D-Day, the most significant military event in history has left a lasting impression on the world, and the very idea of freedom and liberty ever since. 81 years on, memories and legacy still hold true to this auspicious and fraught day, and now the story behind the Normandy Landing, and the significance of one man’s decision, will be felt in Pressure.

Watch the all-new trailer for Pressure below:

Here’s the official synopsis:

In the tense 72 hours before D-Day, and with the fate of the free world hanging in the balance, Pressure follows General Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser) and Captain James Stagg (Andrew Scott) as they face an impossible choice—launch the largest and most dangerous seaborne invasion in history or risk losing the war altogether.

Telling the true story of the behind-the-scenes decisions that ultimately shaped one of the world’s most historically significant events, director Anthony Maras brings David Haig’s acclaimed play to the big screen, and headlining it is an incredibly talented cast. Andrew Scott and Academy Award-winner Brendan Fraser portray Captain James Stagg, a celebrated and genius-level meteorologist, and General Dwight D. Eisenhower, the Supreme Commander of Allied Forces, who together must develop a bond of deep trust as each man’s decisions will shape the future of humanity, and the very victory of the war in the process.

The tension is ramped up in this trailer, and Pressure promises to be an intense and taut watch of immense psychological stress, as Scott’s Stagg and Fraser’s Eisenhower battle ego, rank, and consensus to decide the very fate of the free world, and audiences will be holding on for dear life with this one.

Providing a key level of support to the production are actors Kerry Condon and Damien Lewis, who portray Captain Kay Summersby, Eisenhower’s personal assistant and chauffeur, and a key voice of reason when the general needed it, and Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery, commander of British Forces, and a man with a keen strategic mind and a mission-first belief. Both appear to be at the top of their game here in Pressure.

With superb attention to detail, a focus on heavy drama, and a burning battle of wills, the tension mounts in Pressure, and this is set to be one of the year’s most exciting releases when it arrives in cinemas this April.
