Stunning new images arrive for ‘Once Upon A Time In Hollywood’
Quentin Tarantino is back and 2019 is going to be an awesome year for the director as he brings his latest cinematic achievement to the big screen in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
A host of new information and gorgeous imagery have arrived courtesy of Vanity Fair and they really do a great job of highlighting Tarantino’s 1960s odyssey.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Taking place in Los Angeles in 1969, at the height of hippy Hollywood, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood follows the adventures of Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), former star of western TV series Bounty Law, and his longtime stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt). Both are struggling to make it in a Hollywood they don’t recognize anymore. But Rick has a very famous next-door neighbor…Sharon Tate (Margo Robbie).
Ever since we got our first look into Once Upon a Time in Hollywood back in June of last year, I knew we were in for something amazing and these new images really confirm the extraordinary vision that awaits us here. Dripping with impressive colour and texture, Tarantino has really captured the essence of the 1960s perfectly and you can just feel the anticipation here.
Not only do we have the presence of DiCaprio as smooth actor Rick Dalton who is desperate for his Hollywood comeback, but we also get a look at his cowboy stuntman and best friend Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt), along with a new look at his schmoozy Hollywood agent Marvin Shwarz played by Al Pacino.
Then of course there’s Margot Robbie as the one and only Sharon Tate and she bears a strikingly perfect resemblance to the 1960s bombshell who was the poster child for 1960s oh la la flower power and all the free love that came with it.
I feel a very real excitement here for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and I believe that is will undoubtedly be Tarantino’s most personal film to date. The director is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to film and Hollywood history and with this project he’ll finally be able to bring his considerable knowledge of the era to the big screen in a story that is sure to take audiences on one wild ride through the 1960s.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is without-a-doubt one of my most anticipated films of 2019 and I can’t wait to see Tarantino’s triumphant return to the big screen here. It will arrive in cinemas on July 25.
