Here’s the official synopsis:
Astronaut Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) awakens on a spacecraft with no memory of himself or his mission. He slowly deduces he is the sole survivor of a crew sent to the Tau Ceti solar system in search of a solution to a catastrophic event on Earth. In his search for answers, Grace must rely on his vast array of scientific knowledge, sheer ingenuity, and human will – but he may not have to search alone.
In a continuum of what we’ve previously seen, this bold new trailer for Project Hail Mary offers up a brilliant look into the narrative that awaits, along with the shared bond between Gosling’s Ryland Grace, and alien astronaut ‘Rocky’, an unexpected companion that Grace meets a long the way, and who may very well teach him the ultimate lesson about what it means to be human.
With its dynamic and inspiring visuals, tight pacing, and deeply moving narrative, Project Hail Mary has the makings of a purely cinematic feature, and this is an experience you’ll most certainly want to see up on the big screen. The action and emotions are big and explosive, and there’s an incredible sense of optimism and hope in this picture: when faced with a challenge and with a little help, the human spirit can ultimately triumph and succeed. You can definitely feel all the emotions present in this one.
Along with the brand new trailer, a new featurette has recently been released which offers a new insight into the character of Ryland Grace, along with the gravity of Project Hail Mary’s mission, and it only adds to the excitement that is building for this new release.
