Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone sparkle and shine in ‘La La Land’
Academy Award nominee Damien Chazelle (Whiplash) brings an ethereal tale of love and loss set against the backdrop of Hollywood show business in the dream-like first trailer for La La Land.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Mia (Emma Stone), an ambitious actress is looking to make it in Hollywood and begins to fall for Sebastian (Ryan Gosling), a jazz musician who scrapes by playing cocktail lounges. But as success mounts, their love for each other begins to fray, and the glamour and glitz of the Hollywood machine threatens to pull them apart.
The first trailer is a mix of beautifully crisp cinematography and wild colour, and focuses on Stone’s wayward actress Mia as she desperately works to make it. The new trailer also features an amazing vocal performance from Gosling, whose melodic voice is sure to have viewers swooning. The track titled “City of Stars” is available here.
La La Land will play as part of the opening of the 2016 Venice Film Festival, and will make its way into theatres on December 2.
