Stare fear face on in the brand new trailer for ‘Clayface’
The DC Cinematic universe is rolling forward fast, and from the bright heights and four-colour optimism of Superman, we’re now about to descend into the gutter of pure body horror as acclaimed filmmaker James Watkins unleashes the monster in Clayface and unleashes one of the greatest ever rogues onto the big screen.
Watch the brand new trailer for Clayface below:
Here’s the official synopsis:
Matt Hagen’s (Tom Rhys Harries) meteoric rise from Gotham street kid to Hollywood leading man is tragically cut short when a local crime boss’s actions leave him horribly disfigured. Abandoned by his team and with nothing left, Matt seeks out a cutting edge treatment that miraculously returns him to his former self… but also unexpectedly affects his grip on reality, spiraling him down a destructive path of all-consuming revenge.
Building off of the first look teaser trailer that left us in a fit of sheer dread, this brand new look at Clayface builds out the narrative and delivers Tom Rhys Harries’ aspiring actor Matt Hagen, a man on the verge of monumental success left deformed by the actions of Gotham’s mobster elite. With nowhere to turn he seeks the radical services of ‘fringe scientist’ Dr. Caitlin Corr (Naomi Ackie), whose offers a treatment that gives Matt back his look, at an unexpected cost, and leads him down a path of pure driven horror of revenge!
With Clayface, Watkins delivers a superhero film that comes radically out of left-field and very much embraces its horror chills to the core. This trailer utterly grabs you by the throat, and there are some seriously gnarly moments, including Hagen’s own ‘trimming’ that is sure to make you squirm, and while the full monster is only subtly teased…. when the final revelation is revealed, it’s going to be horrific!
This new trailer for Clayface arrives in accordance with Clayface’s debut at this year’s San Diego Comic Con, which has seen Rhys Harries making his first appearance at the Con, and the welcome be receieved was inspiring, with fans amped for the film, and the scares that await.
Ready yourself for the terror of Gotham’s streets as one of the greatest rogues arrives into cinemas on October 22 with Clayface.
