Here’s the official synopsis;
Set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER!
Based on the best selling Capcom video game that is a treasured nostalgic piece of entertainment for so many, director Kitao Sakurai is pulling directly from the source material and winding the clock back to 1993 for this adaptation of the story which finds former sparring partners and best friends Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), drawn into a bitter rivalry that sees them at each others throats are reunited by the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) to compete in the World Warrior Tournament that sees them thrown into a battle royale against a hostb of savage new fighters, and which leads to a showdown with megalomaniac M. Bison (David Dastmalchian).
The assembled talent for Street Fighter is just off the charts with the likes of Joe “Roman Reigns” Anoai as Akuma, Cody Rhodes as Guile, Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki, Eric André as Don Sauvage, Vidyut Jammwal as Dhalsim, Orville Peck as Vega, Olivier Richters as Zangief, Hirooki Goto as E. Honda, Rayna Vallandingham as Juli, Alexander Volkanovski as Joe, Mel Jarnson as Cammy, with with Curtis ‘50 Cent’ Jackson as Balrog, and Jason Momoa as Blanka.
The action goes for it right from the start of the new trailer, and Koji, Centineo, and Liang look perfect in the new trailer, throwing in a whole mix of drama and comedy to match the barrage of kicks, punches and general mayhem that is going on in the trailer. While the trailer gives a hint at the narrative, what really stands out is the overall visual flair and just sheer madness of the film, and it will have fans salivating.
