2025 is shaping up to be a fantastic year for film afficiandos, and one of our most anticipated releases is without-a-doubt Mickey 17, a crazy sci0fi-comedy from Academy Award-winning filmmaker Bong Joon-ho, and where you’ll be seeing Robert Pattinson in multiples.

Here’s the official synopsis:
Wanting to get out of Earth, Mickey Barnes (Robert Pattinson) signs up to be an “expendable”: a disposable employee where after one iteration dies, a new body is regenerated with most of their memories intact. After one of his “multiples”, Mickey 17, unintentionally survives a human expedition to colonize the ice world Niflheim, he goes head-to-head with a new multiple, Mickey 18.
Set to the groovy tunes of Dean Martin’s ‘Ain’t That a Kick in the Head’, Mickey 17 finds audiences introduced to the dim-witted Mickey Barnes (Pattinson), who desperately to leave a collapsing Earth, volunteers as an ‘expendable’ or deposable employee, and who becomes a tool for use by his corporate overlords. Until a freak accident sees ‘Mickey 17’ copied to ‘Mickey 18’, and from there, the comedy ramps up as Mickey goes on a crazy journey over self-discovery that could see him become a hero he never thought he could be.
Bong Joon-ho is one of the most exciting voices in modern cinema, and this first teaser trailer keeps things close to the chest. at the moment, we don’t quite know what awaits from this thoroughly manic first look, although it does look wild. The presence of multiple Robert Pattinson’s, all with their own unique personalities, including the rather aloof ‘Mickey 17’ and the psychopathic ‘Mickey 18’, will make this film a very entertaining watch.
Brace yourself for a thoroughly wild cinematic experience when Mickey 17 arrives in cinemas on April 17.
