With a stunning list of credits including Gladiator, Alien, Thelma and Louise, Kingdom of Heaven and All the Money in the World, Scott is a filmmaker who continues to push the craft into new boundaries and his new medieval epic The Last Duel is a piece of cinema to get very excited about.

Here’s the official synopsis:

In 14th-century France, knight Jean de Carrouges (Matt Damon) and his squire Jacques Le Gris (Adam Driver) are ordered to fight to the death after Carrouges accuses Le Gris of raping his wife.

The Last Duel will arrive in cinemas on October 21.
