Step into the mind-bending, dimension travelling action of ‘Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’
The Multiverse is ready to explode up onto the silver canvas of the big screen in Marvel Studios’ much anticipated new release, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. And now audiences can get a behind-the-scenes look at the action that awaits.
Check out the brand new featurette below:
Stepping into the director’s chair this time around is comic book cinema veteran Sam Raimi. Recognised as an OG comic book cinema director with his extensive credits including the original Spider-Man trilogy and Dark Man, Raimi has looked to amp up the spectacular mysticism of Doctor Strange, along with adding a gritty level of full-on horror cinema that is sure to excite fans of the character and the greater comic book genre.
“Telling this story was such a gigantic endeavour. It had to be large because it had to not only paint a picture of our universe, but of multiple universes”, said Raimi.
On what he wants audiences to experience with the film, Raimi discussed this saying, “we wanted the fans to go ‘ohh how cool’, I mean that really was our goal. We wanted to give the fans what they wanted, just not exactly what they expected.”
In describing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Doctor Strange star Benedict Cumberbatch said “it’s pretty unfathomably exciting where we’re going in this film. It’s the most fantastic new phase of Marvel.” While Cumberbatch is keeping his cards close to the chest with this new chapter of the Sorcerer Supreme’s life, it’s pretty clear that he’s carrying a genuine level of excitement for the project, and audiences can expect an adventure that is sure to sweep them up in excitement.
Stepping into the Multiverse is sure to open up one hell of a Pandora’s Box of problems for the Master of the Mystic Arts to deal with, and the visual spectacle of these new universes is sure to leave you wide-eyed with excitement.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has even more excitement this time as it will follow on from both the events of Avengers: Endgame, Spider-Man: No Way Home and the excellent WandaVision and Loki, as the focus of the film’s narrative will also be shared by former Avenger Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) who has now fully come into her power as the Scarlet Witch.
Venturing into the vast abyss of the Multiverse alongside Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange is sure to bring up plenty of conflict between these two characters and we can’t wait to see the interaction between Cumberbatch and Olsen on screen.
Here’s the official synopsis:
Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home and Loki, Dr. Stephen Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), with the help of both old and new mystical allies, travels into the multiverse to face a mysterious new adversary.
